About us
Springs Dance Academy was founded in 2005, teaching a small number of students ballet, tap and jazz every week in Stourbridge. To date, we now train over 200 students in our core subjects of ballet, tap, and jazz, but also in acro, contemporary, musical theatre and commercial.
The academy was founded in 2005 by Mandy Toner and the dance academy is now owned by her daughter, Anna Bird.
We are affiliated to the International Dance Teachers’ Association (IDTA) and Acrobatic Arts. We provide the opportunity to take regular examinations with our awarding bodies and also to take part in performances at local venues.
Our Ethos
We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to dance and to find a style they enjoy and can thrive in. It is also never too late to start! We believe in removing barriers to enable every child we teach to achieve their full potential and to share in our passion for our art. We also believe that learning to dance enhances physical and mental well-being and instils life skills as our students prepare for their futures. Our academy places friendship, belonging and equality at the heart of everything we do.
Our Teachers
Our home-grown team of teachers are dedicated to nurturing every dancer to reach their full potential. All of our teachers have trained to dance at Springs. We are dedicated to continuing our professional development with our examination associations and external providers to ensure we can provide the best standard of training.
